Article Abstract
Reported are six cases of glioma, diagnosed in the last 10 years, arising in organ transplant recipients. Five transplant recipients developed glioblastoma, and one developed oligodendroglioma. None had other risk factors for glioma. Glio mas must be considered in the differential diagnosis of space-occupying lesions in transplant recipients. Although these cases may represent coincidence, the putative HIV-glioma association suggests a pathogenetic link to immunosuppression.
